Lei Li

Artistic Director, Vocal Coach and Tenor

Mr. Li graduated from the Shenyang Conservatory of Fine Arts, China, in 1987 majoring in performing piano arts. He then taught piano in the Department of Fine Art, Liaoning Normal University for two years. During this period, he also appeared on several TV dramas. In 1990, he attended the Music School of Nara University, Japan, for his graduate study in music, and earned a Master Degree in performing piano art in 1994, and a Master Degree in vocalism in 1996. During his six years in Japan, Mr. Li had held more than 100 concerts. His vocal solo performances in those concerts were rated very high by the audience as well as by the news media and critics. After he came to the US, he played a role in the opera “Aida” and “Tosca” with Minnesota Opera. He currently teaches piano and vocal arts. He is also affiliated with a Minneapolis church choir. He has served as the conductor of Minhua Chorus since 1996. He has also composed and rearranged several significant choral songs which have been performed by the chorus and were well received.
